The United States Social Security Administration is an independent agency of the United States federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors’ benefits.
The Social Security Administration offers two disability programs: Supplemental Security Income(SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance(SSDI). These two programs are the largest Federal programs which offer assistance to people who are disabled and unable to work provided you meet the medical criteria set by the Social Security Administration.
